Institutional Solutions Strategist

  • In October 2016 Franz joined the Multi Asset Client Solutions team in charge of the development of a dedicated offer for institutional clients in Europe and Asia. 

  • Appointed Chief Strategist in May 2012, Franz now supervises both the Macroeconomic Research and the Investment Strategy, ensuring the good coordination of these two teams.

  • Prior to his current role, Franz was Head of Investment Strategy, in charge of developing asset allocation recommendations for the main asset classes.

  • From 2005 to 2010, he was Deputy Director of Research & Investment.

  • Franz joined AXA IM in late 1997 as an economist, covering the Euro zone and neighbouring countries. In 2000, he shifted his focus to equities globally and commodities as an investment vehicle.

  • Before joining AXA IM, he worked for three years at Bankhaus Metzler in Frankfurt, Germany as Chief Investment Officer.

  • Franz began his career in 1989 as a strategist and product developer with Commerzbank in Frankfurt.

  • Franz holds a PhD (1989) from the University of Würzburg, Germany where he worked as an assistant professor (1985 – 1988) lecturing in banking and finance.
