What If You Live to 100?
Have you planned for a longer life? How many careers do you think you will have? How many places will you call home? When do you plan to retire, what will you do then and how will you afford it?
For many, the traditional journey of education, career and retirement will need to be replaced with a more multistage life.
For those of us in industrialized countries, the longevity trends are clear. We are living longer than ever before. The U.N. expects 2018 to mark the first time in history that the global number of adults aged over 65 will outnumber children under five.
This shift will have significant repercussions. For example by 2030, the over 60s will account for more than half (55%) of all consumer growth, according to forecasts by McKinsey Global Institute. And, it will mean we will all need to think differently about how we live, work and invest.
Dilys Price, 86, and Lisa Puttick, 51, both live in Cardiff, the capital of Wales, U.K. As they share their life experiences, they touch upon many questions surrounding longevity that few of us make time to consider.
Half of children born this year can expect to live to 100 or more, what will you do if you live you 100?
